WiAOC Program Registration Keynotes Committees Venues Help

Help System

There will be live help for the 3 days at Tapped In reception

Below: Instructions to access the venues where the sessions will take place

Some general advice:

Arrive for presentations before the scheduled starting time. This will give you time to resolve login challenges or other difficulties that you might have in participating in a session.

Before you participate in an audio session, it is advisable to reboot your computer to free up your sound card from any previous sessions you had in another audio application.

Alado

NB: At present, Alado is available only for computers using Windows; it does not function on Macs or on computers using Linux or other operating systems. There are, however, programs for running Windows on a Mac, though they are not free. Users who have an Intel Mac may want to consider Parallels Desktop and those who have a non-Intel Mac may want to consider Virtual PC.

To access Alado,

Elluminate at LearningTimes

Link to sessions taking place in the Elluminate room at LT

How can I locate the exact URL's for the presentations held in Learning Times (LT)?

The URL will be available on the Schedule page, next to each presentation. Then...

  • Click on the URL
  • Login with your LT username and password
  • Wait until the software downloads (it might take some time depending on your connection speed)
  • You will be taken to the Elluminate v-room

Interwise at Discovere

NB: Interwise at Discovere is PC-based and works best on Internet Explorer. Mac users may want to consider Parallels Desktop for Intel Macs and Virtual PC for non-Intel Macs. NB: Neither of these programs is free,

Minimum requirements:

These browsers are recommended: Internet Explorer 6.0 or later; Firefox 4.0 or later.

Interwise at Discovere can be used on dial-up or broadband connections; broadband is preferred. Some functions will not be available to dial-up users.

To access Interwise at Discovere,

Click on the "Click here to ENTER the conference room" link at the left of the graphic. The application software will download automatically.

You will now be taken to a screen like the one shown below:

  • Enter your first name, your last name, and your e-mail address. Then click Join now.

You will be able to enter the conference room only at the time scheduled for the session.

When you connect to a Discovere Interwise event, the system will recognize that your PC does not have the client software and will set up the software while connecting to the event. If this is your first visit to Discovere Interwise, you will see a "Participant Application Setup" screen (see below) while the software downloads.

The screen shown below will appear when the download is complete. Follow the directions shown on the screen.

For future participation in the Discovere Interwise room, just click on http://www.compued.com.au/discovere/convergence . Also, remember to save it in your Favorites.

Special Tip: If you are using IE 7, check your individual security settings to see that your browser is set to allow ActiveX scripting: from the IE interface, choose Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom Level and then enable "Script ActiveX Controls marked safe for scripting." Emptying Temp Internet Files will also help.
